Oakwood Treecare and Consultancy used a crane with a 24m reach and 5 tonne limit for this big tree removal job. The large macrocarpa was over the owner’s home as well as overhanging their neighbour’s roof.

The size of the tree meant that felling involved removing limbs followed by sectional felling. Ordered dismantling of the tree is more complex with a spreading tree like a Macrocarpa – similar to taking it apart like a jigsaw.  Once the tree’s limbs were removed, the large sections of trunk wood were lifted onto the back of the truck by crane.
